Facial Exercises for Your Mouth – How to Prevent and Decrease Lip Wrinkles

Use these Face Exercises to Keep Your Mouth Looking Young!

As you edge toward your late 30’s and early 40’s, you may start to notice fine lines around your lips that make you look older.

Smoking, sun damage, stress, and weight loss may make these lip lines occur even faster but if you exercise your mouth muscles, you can keep your lips looking smooth and young for much longer.

We’ve put together a few facial exercises that you can do with your morning or evening face routine or throughout the day that will help minimize those lip wrinkles so keep reading – fuller lips await!

The Marilyn

You can actually use your imagination with this one! Pretend that you’re Marilyn Monroe and that you’re blowing kisses to your adoring fans, or to that famous birthday boy that you sung to. The best part? While you’re pretending, you’re also making your lips fuller and minimizing the appearance of lip wrinkles. To add a little resistance, press your fingers to your lips and blow them away. This strengthens your lips and makes them look fuller.

The Mouthwash

This face exercise is easy. All that you do is fill your mouth up with air and swish it back and forth like you’re using mouthwash. Keep your lips firm as you do the exercise and you’ll be working pretty much your entire middle and lower face. Repeat 10 times per side. This is an exercise that trombone players do each time that they play, and they have strong cheeks and great facial structure.

The Letter “O”

If you want a really good pucker, this is the exercise for you. Simply inhale and make the letter “O” with your mouth. Then exhale while holding the shape and keeping your mouth muscles tightened. Repeat 10 times. This face exercise works all of the muscles around your lips so that you get more strength and pucker.

The Pout

This one’s easy! Simply stick your lower lip out as far as you can and hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 5 times. You’ll feel the pull through your lips, chin, and even your neck.

The Kissy Face

This one works every muscle around your mouth and even some of the ones in your cheeks. Simply pucker your lips together and push them out as far as you can. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times.

I’m Shocked!

Pretend like you’re really surprised and open your mouth. Concentrate on pulling your lips into your mouth while it’s open. Tighten your muscles like that and hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times.

Final Word

You’ve probably noticed as you’ve been reading that these facial exercises make you look a little silly. For that reason, you may want to practice them at home while you’re doing your moisturizing routine, unless of course you WANT everybody at the office to think you’ve lost your mind! In that case, please don’t let us stop you.
