Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector Review

Looking for the Perfect, Age-Defying BB Cream?

In the never-ending battle of youth-restoring products, BB Creams are the latest trend toward perfection. The problem is that most of them pose some pretty big claims but don’t live up to them. Revlon Photoready BB Cream is one of the leading drugstore contenders, so we’re going to see what it claims, what’s in it, and what real users are saying about it.

What Does Revlon Claim?

The claims on this one are super-simple. They claim that it serves the same purpose as five of your standard beauty products. It:

  • Protects with SPF 30 just like your sunscreen
  • Blurs flaws like a concealer
  • Hydrates like a moisturizer
  • Smoothes like your primer
  • Covers like a foundation

Strangely enough, most BB Creams strictly state that they provide light coverage so it’s a bit strange that that this one claims to work as a foundation. They claim that you can wear it alone or on top of your other moisturizers if you really need extra hydration.

The BB Cream only comes in three shades though: light, light medium, and medium. That’s not particularly surprising considering BB Cream originated in Asia and was used to help create the appearance of perfect, porcelain skin. Let’s take a look at what’s in it to see if it’s effective.

What’s In It?

The active ingredients listed are sunblocks and sunscreens and provide a nice coverage for both UVA and UVB rays that cause signs of aging to occur. They include octinoxate, octisalate and titanium dioxide. The other ingredients are simply emulsifiers, smoothing agents, and ingredients to make it slide on smoothly. It does have zinc in it, which is good for your skin and helps keep the product from caking.

There are several good herbal extracts including hibiscus extract, and there’s also our favorite water retaining agent, sodium hyaluronate. There’s also align, which is one of the latest youth restoring ingredients.

What Are Users Saying?

Most of the reviews on Revlon Photo Ready BB Cream Skin Perfecter are positive. It’s lightweight, smooth, and natural looking. It also blends well and is easy to apply. It’s non-greasy and also good for sensitive skin.

As suspected, the BB Cream provides a light coverage that’s not really comparable to a true foundation, though it does a good job of blurring imperfections just like it claims. Many claim that they use it alone during the day and underneath their makeup at night.

Final Word

If you’re light-to-medium complected, you’ll probably like this BB Cream as long as you’re looking for light coverage. Since it’s non-drying and non-greasy, it’s good for everyday use, too. Just be aware that if you have extra light skin or skin that’s darker than medium, this BB Cream probably isn’t for you.
