L’Oreal Collagen Moisture Filler Day/Night Cream Review

Does It Really Fill In Wrinkles?

Do you have great skin that just needs a little boost of moisture to help fill in those wrinkles?

If so, then maybe L’Oreal Paris has just the product for you.

Their Collagen Moisture Filler Daily Moisturizer Day/Night Cream may help add the moisture back into your tired skin so that it looks plump, young and radiant again.

Today we’re going to take a look at the ingredients in this product to see if it’s worth adding to your anti-aging routine.

Collagen is the protein that holds our tissues together and keeps them from sagging. As we age, our skin loses moisture and slows down its production of collagen. When that happens, skin loses its plump, youthful look and starts to look uneven and wrinkled. L’Oreal Paris claims that their product uses natural collagen that’s extracted so that all of its hydrating qualities are preserved.

The cream is purported by L’Oreal to provide intense hydration that helps fill in your fine lines and wrinkles and rehydrate your skin. Immediately, 94% of women’s skin is nourished with moisture. After 1 week, skin is “improved” in 86% of women, and after 4 weeks, according to a clinical scoring system, wrinkles are more filled and skin looks younger for 72% of users.

Let’s take a look at the ingredients list to see if L’Oreal’s product has the stuff to back the claims.

What’s In It?

This product actually has some decent ingredients as long as you don’t mind a couple of the standard parabens and sulfates. The first few ingredients are water, emollients, Shea butter, and beeswax. Not a bad start.

Then there are several more standard emollients and one oddity: Boswellia Serrata Root Extract, which is often used as an herbal treatment for arthritis and joint pain. It’s listed as an astringent and ant-inflammatory. Interesting.

About half way down the list, we finally run into what we’re looking for: natural soluble collagen and as a bonus, atelocollagen. This altered form of collagen is suspected to permeate cell walls easier than traditional collagen. In addition to the ingredient that are supposed to be in there, there’s also vitamin E, which is a known healing agent and moisturizer. The rest of the ingredients are just emollients, texture enhancers, and agents that give the cream structure.

What Are Users Saying?

People who are using L’Oreal’s really seem to like it, especially for dry skin. Even women in their 60’s and 70’s are reporting good things such as obvious decreases in crepiness and wrinkles.

There does seem to be an issue with it being a bit too greasy for daytime use but this isn’t deterring people from using it or reporting that they’d be willing to try it again. Rather, they just say that they use it only at night, and perhaps around their eyes during the day. Some women report that it’s even good for your hands and at the super-low price, you can afford to use it that way.

Users also report that it smells good so if you’re sensitive to smell, it may not be the best product for you. Sometimes even a good smell is a bad thing if you’re going to be suffering from a migraine. People with sensitive skin report that they can use the product without breakouts and nearly everybody reported smoother, moister skin.

Only a small percentage of people who used this product who didn’t like it but even those people reported that it was either great for use on hands or that they would use it around their eyes. The main complaint was that it was too hydrating.

Final Word

This product is great, especially if you have dry skin. If you’re looking for a cream that puts the moisture back in your skin and can help put the collagen back into your tissues so that you retain moisture or get rid of that crepey look, then this is the product for you.

If you have oily skin you may find that L’Oreal Paris’ Collagen Moisture Filler Daily Moisturizer Day/Night Cream is a bit heavy for day use, but it will still be great to use around your eyes and at night. Also, if your hands tend to be dry, try a bit of the cream on them there, too. At the price that you’re going to pay, you can afford to use such a great cream on any body part that you want to!
