Dr. Perricone’s Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream Review

A Great Youth-Resoring Eye Cream Without Skin Irritation? perricone-md-hypoallergenic-eye

If you have extra-dry, sensitive skin, you may have problems finding an eye cream that’s hydrating enough to keep you looking great without being greasy or irritating.

Now that your skin’s aging, you have even more issues to consider; you need something with ingredients to help keep your skin supple and young-looking, too.

Dr. Perricone’s Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream claims to be exactly the product that you’re looking for.

By the end of this article, you’re going to know what the cream is created to do. You’ll also learn what’s in it and what real users have to say about it. Let’s get started!

What Do They Claim?

According to the description, this eye cream is made to increase hydration and help reduce fine lines, crow’s feet and dark circles. It also helps if you’ve begun to lose firmness and have sensitive or dry skin. They even claim that it’s gentle enough to be used after cosmetic treatments in order to maintain hydration and firmness.

According to the description, the active ingredients include:

  • 4 proprietary neuropeptides – Neuropeptides enhance the brain/body communication system. As we age, we produce fewer of the neuropeptides that signal the release of chemicals that keep our skin taut, bright and young-looking.
  • Olive polyphenols – for millennia, people have taken advantage of the age-restoring benefits of olive oil. It’s hypoallergenic and penetrates deep within the skin and provides moisture and antioxidants such as vitamins E and A that help undo the damaging effects of the sun and environmental pollutants.
  • Tocotrienols – stable form of the powerful antioxidant, vitamin E that protects you from oxidizing elements such as the sun and environmental toxins and helps your skin heal.

The descriptions that I put with these are from my own research, not what Perricone claims. So if these ingredients are actually in this product in significant amounts, it has the potential to be a decent product.

Perricone also states that this eye cream is made without parabens, synthetic dyes or fragrances, pthalates, sulfates, mineral oil or petrochemicals.

What’s In It?

At first glance, the Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream has a ton of hard-to-pronounce chemicals that look just about like any other ingredient label. Once you break it down, those ingredients turn out to be some pretty impressive age-restoring powerhouses. There are phospholipids such as phosphatidylcholine that help your cells maintain structure.

N-Hydroxysuccinimide is an acidic ester that acts to eliminate discoloration and inflammation caused by blood-originated pigment. Since that’s one of the main causes of puffiness and dark circles, seeing this listed is impressive as well as uncommon.

There’s hyaluronic acid to help your skin hold moisture, allentoin that stimulates new tissue growth and ectoin, a product that protects you from sun damage and hydrates your skin. Finally, before we start looking for peptides, there’s olive extract as promised. As a matter of fact, it’s in the form of 12% Hidrox, which is a European organic olive juice extract.

There are actually a few different moisturizing oils including palm, coconut, olive and vegetable oils. I’m not too keen on the vegetable oil but everything else is great.

Regarding the four neuropeptides, they’re in this eye cream too; acetyl tetrapeptide-5, octapeptide-3, palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7. The latter two combine to make the anti-aging ingredient that you may better know as matrixyl-3000. They are, however, the last ingredients listed. Since there’s no real measure that states how much of these are beneficial, it’s hard to judge whether or not that’s a bad thing.

Individually, these neuropeptides may imcrease collagen production, decrease inflammation and edema, improve blood flow, and help your skin regain elasticity. Together, they provide a broad spectrum of benefits that dovetail nicely into your age management routine.

What Are Users Saying?

Everyone really likes this cream but people with sensitive skin, dry skin or dark circles love it! Users agree that it’s light and absorbs well without causing irritation or flaking. It’s not greasy but does a great job of hydrating the whole eye area and decreasing fine lines. It sits well under makeup and you can even use it on your eyelids. Nobody seems to have anything bad to say about it.

Final Word

Because this eye cream actually has ingredients in it proven to help make skin look younger, and because users concur that it truly works, I say it’s well worth a try. It’s got the best ingredients and reviews that I’ve seen in a long time for any product.

This eye cream is a bit expensive, especially if you order it from the Perricone website, but I’ve found some better deals for you. Click here to find the best prices on Perricone MD’s Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream.

I have very sensitive skin and I have used it only twice but with the same skin reaction – skin starts being itchy and my eyes were crying. So despite great opinions in internet and my willingness to use it I have to give it away :(
