Ready? Good, the sooner you read this article, the sooner you can add a decade or so to your life.

Enjoy an Egg, However You Like It

Yes, I said eat an egg. I know that in recent years everybody is telling you just the opposite: eggs are bad, full of cholesterol, and should be avoided like the plague. Well don’t listen. Just like many other things, eggs are great for you in limited quantities.

Just one provides a whopping 13% of your recommended daily protein requirement and it’s extremely low in calories – one large egg only has about 85! Protein isn’t all you’re getting either – eggs contain lutein which is awesome for your eyes and choline which helps reduce inflammation in your brain.

Also found within that delicate shell are vitamins A, D and B6 along with phosphorus, calcium and potassium. On top of everything else, they’re now saying that eggs may help prevent Alzheimer’s. You just can’t go wrong no matter how you choose to eat it!

Add Omega 3’s

Recent research is indicating that this group of necessary fatty acids helps with everything from brain function to heart health. The thing is, these are one of the few nutrients that your body can’t produce on its own – you have to get them from external sources like fatty fish (salmon, tuna, mackerel) or nuts.

Omega 3’s also help you maintain healthy arteries, which can add decades to your life. Fish oil is amazing for your joints, too. It can actually repair damage and improve your mobility. Finally, your hair will be shiny and your nails will be strong. Whether you get your fatty acids from fish, nuts, supplements, or a combination of place, make sure to get them! Take Care of Your Teeth

The gunk and funk that grows in your teeth is literally deadly, thus making it imperative that you keep them clean in order to stay healthy. In addition to removing old food and bacteria, brushing and flossing also keep your gums healthy which can add years to your life in another way – it helps keep your immune system strong.

It sounds strange, but it’s true. When your gums become unhealthy, some of the bacteria in your mouth can cause infections that can leak into your bloodstream. At the very least, this is causing your immune system to work harder than it has to. In the worst case scenario, the infection can cause a systemic or cardiac infection that can make you extremely ill, weaken your heart, and actually kill you.

The quickest and easiest way to avoid all of this and add years to your life is to simply brush your teeth, floss regularly and see your dentist for your checkups. Piece of cake. Click here to check out some really cool water systems to keep your teeth clean.

Take Time to Breathe

Stress is quite possibly the unhealthiest element that you’re body has to deal with, and we all have it. It directly causes heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and myriad other diseases. Indirectly, there’s no telling how many health issues are precipitated by stress.

Some people eat when they’re stressed, which causes obesity, which in turn causes diabetes, heart disease, metabolic syndrome, joint deterioration…you know the story. The bottom line is that stress takes years off of your life.

A great way to de-stress is to take a minute three or four times a day and just shut your eyes, go to your “quiet place”, and breathe. Close your mind to everything around you and to all of the influences that are stressing you mentally and just EXIST. Breathe deeply, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Voila – you’ve just added up to a decade to your life.

Research shows that people who are sedentary for more than four hours per day outside of work have more than double the chance of dying early from nearly everything from heart disease to cancer than those who are sitting on their bottoms for less than 2 hours per day. Even if you have a sit-down job, get up at least once per hour and walk for one minute.

Also, instead of plopping down in front of the TV and staying there all evening, watch your shows while you’re doing something else such as housework. That way, you’ll be getting both your house AND your body in shape!

In Closing

Now you know of at least 5 ways that you can live longer, and none of them take more than a minute each. Combine these with a healthy diet, a sensible exercise plan, and a positive attitude, and you may just live to be a happy, healthy, 100!
