Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector Review

Looking for the Perfect, Age-Defying BB Cream?

In the never-ending battle of youth-restoring products, BB Creams are the latest trend toward perfection. The problem is that most of them pose some pretty big claims but don’t live up to them. Revlon Photoready BB Cream is one of the leading drugstore contenders, so we’re going to see what it claims, what’s in it, and what real users are saying about it.

What Does Revlon Claim?

The claims on this one are super-simple. They claim that it serves the same purpose as five of your standard beauty products. It:

  • Protects with SPF 30 just like your sunscreen
  • Blurs flaws like a concealer
  • Hydrates like a moisturizer
  • Smoothes like your primer
  • Covers like a foundation

Strangely enough, most BB Creams strictly state that they provide light coverage so it’s a bit strange that that this one claims to work as a foundation. They claim that you can wear it alone or on top of your other moisturizers if you really need extra hydration.

The BB Cream only comes in three shades though: light, light medium, and medium. That’s not particularly surprising considering BB Cream originated in Asia and was used to help create the appearance of perfect, porcelain skin. Let’s take a look at what’s in it to see if it’s effective.

What’s In It?

The active ingredients listed are sunblocks and sunscreens and provide a nice coverage for both UVA and UVB rays that cause signs of aging to occur. They include octinoxate, octisalate and titanium dioxide. The other ingredients are simply emulsifiers, smoothing agents, and ingredients to make it slide on smoothly. It does have zinc in it, which is good for your skin and helps keep the product from caking.

There are several good herbal extracts including hibiscus extract, and there’s also our favorite water retaining agent, sodium hyaluronate. There’s also align, which is one of the latest youth restoring ingredients.

What Are Users Saying?

Most of the reviews on Revlon Photo Ready BB Cream Skin Perfecter are positive. It’s lightweight, smooth, and natural looking. It also blends well and is easy to apply. It’s non-greasy and also good for sensitive skin.

As suspected, the BB Cream provides a light coverage that’s not really comparable to a true foundation, though it does a good job of blurring imperfections just like it claims. Many claim that they use it alone during the day and underneath their makeup at night.

Final Word

If you’re light-to-medium complected, you’ll probably like this BB Cream as long as you’re looking for light coverage. Since it’s non-drying and non-greasy, it’s good for everyday use, too. Just be aware that if you have extra light skin or skin that’s darker than medium, this BB Cream probably isn’t for you.

Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum Review

Looking for the Perfect Eye Serum to Make Your Eyes Look Younger?

olay-regenerist-eye

Olay’s Regenerist line has earned a place in anti-aging history with its advanced chemistry and wrinkle-fighting success but is the eye cream as good as the rest of the line?

Today we’re going to find out whether Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum actually does what it says or whether it’s just a big waste of your time and money.

What Do They Claim?

According to Olay, their Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum is formulated to visibly lift and brighten around the delicate eye area. In just 24 days, it tones and smoothes the eye area and evens out the tone under your eyes.

It does all of this using their exclusive Amino-Peptide complex that hydrates and brightens the entire eye area. The natural glow that you used to have will be restored and left feeling smooth and soft.

The eye serum is fragrance free, non-greasy and tested by both dermatologists and opthalmologists.

What’s In It

The ingredients list for this eye serum is pretty impressive. It contains many different anti-aging goodies that are generally found in top-of-the-line products. The difference is that it’s rare to find them all in one product!

Just a few of these awesome ingredients include vitamin E, niacinimide, Pro-Vitamin B5, green tea extract and cucumber extract. There’s also palmitoyl pentapeptide, which is a top-notch amino peptide found in skin regenerating products.

Probably the best thing is that these ingredients are all in the first half of the list. As a matter of fact, they start as the 5th ingredient. Since the list is composed by product weight in descending order, that means that the active ingredients make up a large percentage of the product.

What Are Users Saying?

As is pretty typical of Olay products, users love the Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum. Some of the most common pros listed for the product include that it helps fade crow’s feet, brightens eyes, improves skin texture and helps with fine lines. Since that’s pretty much all that it claims to do, it looks like we have a winner!

Other good things about the eye serum are that it absorbs quickly, is non-greasy and is easy to use. It also works well on sensitive skin and doesn’t have a heavy scent.

Final Word

Because of the action-packed ingredients list and the raving consumer reviews, we’re going to give Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum a huge thumbs up. It’s not often that we come across an eye cream that actually works so you can imagine how excited we were to find this and be able to share it with you.

StriVectin-SD for Stretch Marks and Wrinkles Review

Need a Wrinkle-Fighting Stretch-Mark Fading Cream?

strivectin-stretch-marks-wrinkles

There are several products on the market that claim to reduce wrinkles and fade stretch marks, but most of them simply don’t work.

StriVectin-SD is a company known for making clinical-strength products that actually work, so can their product do what others have failed at?

We’re going to take a look today to see if StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks and Wrinkles can live up to its claims and its manufacturer’s reputation.

What Do They Claim?

They took their original stretch mark cream and supercharged it with their “proprietary” complex NIA-114 and Peptides Actives in order to add wrinkle fighting capabilities that give results in 2-8 weeks.

We don’t particularly care for that “proprietary” word because it so often stands for a blend of mystery ingredients that simply don’t work but cost a ton of money. We’ll see.

To be specific, the company claims that in 2 weeks, your natural collagen will be replenishing and your texture and resilience will be improved. By the 4th week, discolorations will be visibly fading and your natural cell turnovers will be intensifying. By the 8th week, your elasticity will be improved and your stretch marks and wrinkles will be visibly improved.

Wow, those are some pretty big claims. Let’s look at the ingredients to see what’s there.

What’s In It?

Because I was moderately underwhelmed by a review that we did of another StriVectin-SD product, I was amazed when I glanced through the ingredients in this product! It’s seriously packed with healing agents, moisturizers, antioxidants and wrinkle-fighters.

Just to name a few of our favorites, it’s got resveratrol, hyaluronic acid, Shea butter, several different peptides, and myristyl nicotinate, a close relative and similar compound to niacinimide. It actually has what it claims in it and then some!

At this point, I’ll be really surprised if the reviews aren’t raving.

What Are Users Saying?

As suspected, an overwhelming percentage of people love this product. They report that it works so well on some trouble areas such as age spots that people think that they’ve had work done. Others report that though their wrinkles are completely gone, they’re much improved. It’s also extremely moisturizing, smells a bit minty and absorbs well.

Final Word

Between the ingredients in this product and the user reviews, we have no choice but to give it a hearty “2-thumbs-up”. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a product label that packed with good stuff, and for the price, you really can’t beat it. It’s more expensive than drug store brands but half the price of high-end creams that only have half the ingredients. We say go for it!

In order to save you some money, we’ve found good deals on StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks and Wrinkles here.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Radiant Firming Makeup Review

maybelline-age-rewind

Do You Want Firmer Tighter Skin Without Surgery?

Surgery is an expensive option if you want to get a firmer appearance but is there a viable alternative?

According to Maybelline, their Instant Age Rewind Radian Firming Makeup can make your skin look firmer and younger.

We’re going to take a look at what Maybelline claims, what’s in the firming cream, and what real users are saying about it.

What Do They Claim?

According to Maybelline, their firming cream tones your skin instantly so that it appears more even, smooth and radiant. Since it has SPF 18 sunscreen, it helps protect you from sun damage that makes you look old, too.

It does this by using gogi berry and caffeine. Huh. Let’s take a look at what’s in it.

What’s In It?

It does indeed have the gogi berry and caffeine in it like it claims. Caffeine has been used forever to tighten skin, especially for such events as beauty pageants.

Other ingredients consist mostly of emulsifiers, emollients and agents that make the product glide on smoothly and set nicely. There are also a couple of conditioning agents that form a barrier to help hold moisture in your skin.

Finally, the makeup has vitamin C and panthenol (a B vitamin) in it, which were pleasant surprises.

What Are Users Saying?

The biggest complaint is that it’s tough to find a shade to match, which appears to be extremely annoying to some people because they love the product. Currently it only comes in 8 shades. Other pros include that it goes on smoothly, blends well, is lightweight and has good pigmentation.

Users repeatedly stated how thick this product was and one user suggested that it’s much easier to apply if you use a wet sponge. It goes on smoothly and looks flawless when you do that.

People with oily skin reported that it worked best if you set it with powder.

Final Word

As we age, our skin gets thinner and the tissues start to break down. Your body slows production of collagen, the protein that holds your tissues together, and then you start to sag. This is a natural part of aging but, like many other parts of getting old, we don’t have to like it.

We actually like the product. It has all of the ingredients in it that it claims to have, and it’s also apparently a great foundation. Give it a shot – we think you’ll like it!

StriVectin-SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles Review

An Eye Cream That Really Fights Puffiness, Crow’s Feet and More?

strivectin-sd-eye

You’ve surely heard of StriVectin-SD wrinkle cream for your face, but now the super cream has a solution to help make your eyes look younger, too.

Today, we’re going to look at what they claim that StriVectin-SD Eye can do, see what’s in it, and check out what users are saying about it so that you’ll know whether it’s worth your time and money.

What Do They Claim?

According to the manufacturer, StriVectin-SD Eye is a multi-dimensional eye cream that targets dark circles, crow’s feet and puffiness around your eyes. It does this using a new clinical formula and their line on it is “More Science. Less Eye Lines”.

Specifically, by week 2, your dark circles and puffiness will be reduced. By week 4 your firmness will be increasing and your texture will be improved. By week 8, your skin will be more elastic and the fine lines and crow’s feet will be fading.

In theory, StriVectin-SD for Eyes works by accelerating the rebuilding of skin layers around your eyes using peptides, brighteners, light diffusers and passion flower extract.

What’s In It?

At a glance, the ingredients list isn’t that impressive. It does have Myristyl Nicotinate, which may help improve your skin barrier function. There’s also squalane, that beautiful olive or shark liver derivative known to moisturize, protect your skin from UV damage, and promote cell growth. Panthenol, or pro-vitamin B5 is in there, too.

Finally, there’s mica in it, which is a light refractor, as promised. It’s a powder that only works when you’re wearing it though!

There are, of course, several smoothing agents, moisturizers, emollients and preservatives in StriVectin-SD too.

What Are Users Saying?

Users who were looking for a wrinkle-fighting cream loved this product. Those who were trying to get rid of dark under eye circles had more mixed reviews. Of course, we know that there are many different causes for this problem and some of them just aren’t fixable with a cream, so that’s kind of to be expected. It also seems to do a good job getting rid of puffiness.

Even people who didn’t quite get the results that they were looking for with the dark circles still liked how the cream felt and everybody states that it smoothes on well and absorbs quickly. Another comment that was pretty common was that StriVectin-SD for Eyes is extremely moisturizing. Overall, it was a hit with users.

Final Word

StriVectin-SD for Eyes seems to live up to user expectations even though the ingredients as a whole don’t suggest that they would. Perhaps it’s just a magical combination of usually-mediocre ingredients, or maybe they’re not all listed. At any rate, we give it a tentative thumbs up because women as young as 30 and as mature as 65 all seem to love it.

StriVectin-SD for Eyes is often difficult to find at local drug stores, so click here to find great deals on it!
