Multivitamins for Women Over 50

Every woman over 50 wants to feel and look much younger but many ask, “How can a multivitamin help me with anti-aging?” The answer’s simple.

Free Radicals Cause Damage

Every day, we’re exposed to toxins via the foods that we eat, the air that we breathe and the things that we touch. Over a lifetime, these toxins cause a buildup of free radicals in our bodies that causes oxidation at the cellular level. This results in damage to the cells that manifests in the form of wrinkles, dull and saggy skin, and age spots. Free radicals not only damage your skin, they also damage other parts of your body. This damage results in age-related symptoms and diseases such as memory loss, arthritis and even some cancers.

Antioxidants

Antioxidants are vitamins and minerals that bond with free radicals and prevent them from causing oxidation. Therefore, adding a good daily multivitamin supplement to your diet is an excellent way to combat the signs and symptoms of aging. A good multivitamin is an excellent anti-aging tool that helps improve such areas as:

  • Memory and Concentration
  • Bone Health
  • Joint Health
  • Breast Health
  • Heart Health
  • Eye Health
  • Immunity
  • Physical Energy

There are three excellent multivitamins that contain the antioxidants needed to help in the reduction of free radicals: Centrum Silver, GNC Women’s Ultra Mega 50Plus, and One a Day Women’s 50+ Advantage.

Centrum Silver

Centrum Silver is recommended for men and women over 50 because it’s considered to be an age-adjusted multivitamin that supplies nutrients that you need as you get older. This product addresses the need for quality nutrients for better bone health, eye health, heart health, and increased energy. The Centrum Silver Ultra Women’s multivitamin also addresses specific dietary needs for women 50+.

GNC Women’s Ultra Mega 50 Plus

GNC’s multivitamin contains antioxidants and combines several different formulas that address the specific needs of women over 50. It also contains vitamins and minerals that help improve memory, lower cholesterol, and support heart, bone and eye health. GNC’s Ultra Mega 50 Plus multivitamin makes it easy to get all of your vitamins and minerals, including antioxidants, with just one pill.

One a Day Women’s 50+ Advantage

This multivitamin provides nutritional supplements that address age and gender. One tablet per day along with exercise and a healthy diet provides everything a woman needs to challenge free radicals and keep your body in the best of health. Studies suggest that a woman needs 1000 IU of Vitamin D to support good breast health and One a Day Women’s 50+ Advantage has it.

If you’re looking for the very best multivitamin for women over 50, any of these three supplements are excellent options.

  1. Centrum Silver is really good, but I also like to supplement with CoQ10. It helps with all kinds of things related to aging including neutralizing free radicals, providing memory support, promoting brain and heart health and possibly even diabetes.

I’ve done a ton of research into these supplements and can tell you that though CoQ10 is SUSPECTED of doing much of this, it’s actually PROVEN to lower blood pressure because people with high blood pressure tend to be low in CoQ10. They’re still working on the details but I’m a believer!

I absolutely hate taking pills so I’m super excited about all of the new chewables on the market. I love to take fish oil because I really notice a difference in my memory but I hated the giant, hard to swallow horse pills. I was happy to find the minis and bought 3 bottles fo them.

I also started taking the Centrum chewables and they’re great. Now I just popl one into my mouth and eat it on the way out the door in the morning. Great job Centrum!
