Tireless right back Emily was a model of consistency last season, missing only two of our 42 games in all competitions and providing relentless energy at both ends of the pitch. She also netted her first two goals for the club, getting the Renée Slegers era off to the perfect start by scoring 62 seconds into the interim head coach’s first match in charge – a 4-1 win over Valerenga in the Champions League in October 2024 – and a long-range piledriver in the 5-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur that won the club’s Goal of the Month award for February.
The athletic defender, who is also comfortable inverting into midfield, joined Arsenal during the January 2024 transfer window having played college football alongside future Arsenal team-mates Lotte Wubben-Moy and Alessia Russo at North Carolina Tar Heels. She joined Racing Louisville FC as the first overall pick of the 2021 NWSL Draft and then spent 12 months with North Carolina Courage before moving to north London.
A full international since 2018, Emily won three trophies with the United States in 2024: the CONCACAF Gold Cup, SheBelieves Cup, in which she scored the winning penalty in the final shootout with Canada, and Summer Olympics.
