We were delighted to welcome Arsenal legend Charlie George to The Arsenal Hub for our Age Well Christmas Party.
The party was attended by participants aged 50-plus and formed part of our Older Adults Programme, which sits within our Health sessions. These sessions are funded by the Premier League and the Professional Footballers’ Association. We regularly welcome up to 80 participants from a wide range of community groups, including our Bowls, Shape Up, Walking Football, Prostate Cancer Walking Football and Parkinson’s Walking Football groups.
George, famed for his legendary goal in the 1971 FA Cup final victory over Liverpool that sealed a historic league and cup double, drew the raffle tickets, chatted to guests and posed for photographs.
Our participants enjoyed a raffle with a variety of prizes on offer, alongside small treats including chocolate generously supplied by our Official Snacking Partner Cadbury. This was followed by a range of inclusive activities such as short-mat bowls, walking football, bocce and skittles, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.
